The Legendary Entertainment , studio behind franchises such as Dune , Godzilla and the live-action Pokémon: Detective Pikachu , will be responsible for producing audiovisual content based on the Magic: The Gathering universe. The agreement covers both film productions and possible adaptations for streaming.
Despite the announcement, the film should still take a few years to release a trailer. According to the hosts, this is the first step towards adaptation, and companies should now start the processes of casting, hiring directors and screenwriters, as well as other preproduction details.
And the Netflix series?

The animated series of Magic: The Gathering , announced in 2019 by Netflix, is still in production and is not linked to the new partnership between Hasbro and Legendary. The project, which originally had the Russo brothers in production, remains under development as an independent adaptation of the game universe.
