Pro Tour Aetherdrift, which will be held during MagicCon: Chicago, had its Metagame revealed with few surprises and many old acquaintances. Among the 349 competitors, the main choices of deck archetypes were Gruul Mice, Esper Bounce and Domain Overlords, which together make up a total of 50.7% of presence in the biggest competitive tournament of the season.

The Metagame presents few surprises among the main archetypes when compared to Standard before Aethedrift. The novelty is the Jeskai Oculus, a new variant of the Abhorrent Oculus mixing the already known strategy of bringing creatures back from the graveyard with Helping Hand and Recommission with a splash of Magic Symbol R for Fear of Missing Out, Torch the Tower and the new Chandra, Spark Hunter.

Despite the expected numbers for the three main archetypes, Pro Tour Aetherdrift surprises both with the decline of Midranges and the wide diversity of decks in the Others category, with 27.8%, which includes strategies that mix Phyrexian Obliterator with Bushwhack and a new version of Bounce using Serra Paragon with Grim Bauble and Momentum Breaker.

Among them, the following stand out: Ride's End as a removal for Domain decks that interacts with Up the Beanstalk while Spell Pierce found slots on several lists, totaling 82 copies in the maindeck and 78 in the sideboard.

Momentum Breaker and Grim Bauble have found their way into Bounce lists, while Chandra, Spark Hunter is exclusively present in Sideboards, possibly in Red Aggro and Oculus lists.

Brightglass Gearhulk was the most used card of the expansion's Mythic cycle in Collector's Cage lists, with three decks betting on a Magic Symbol U splash. Stock Up has been getting some testing even in Legacy recently, and it's surprising how many of them were present at the Pro Tour.
